Cooking with Cannabis

Thanks to the nationwide cannabis legalization act in 2018, cannabis products have made leaps and bounds into becoming accepted into society. Since legalization the expansion of cannabis products, specifically in the edibles sector has resulted in quite the product expansion. Now in mid 2021, there are virtually endless types of cannabis edibles beyond the token pot brownie or cookie. To name a few, you can use cannabis to make nut butterguacamolebarbecue sauce, and even cheese. And while you can easily pick-up pre-packaged edibles such as gummies, chocolates, drinks or cookies at your local Farmer Jane dispensary, you can also whip up your own weed edibles and cannabis infused drinks at home. Whatever you are feeling, the Farmer Jane store has what you need to get creative in the kitchen.

Making cannabis edibles is easy and fun. They make for a great option for those who don’t want to smoke cannabis but still want to enjoy it. If you want to tackle creating your own infused concoctions, Farmer Jane Cannabis Co. is here to guide you through how to cook edibles at home, how to make staples like infused cannabutter and oils, and offer easy recipes you can try.

Cooking with Cannabis

The edible cooking and baking process starts with decarboxylation. Basically, you need to heat cannabis in order for your body to absorb cannabinoids, such as THC and CBD. When you smoke weed, this absorption of cannabinoids happens from the flame of your lighter. To heat the cannabis to decarboxylate it to make edibles, you do it at a much lower temperature so that the plant stays intact while you infuse it with butter or oil.

Not what you’d expect your typical grocery store to look like, but Farmer Jane has what you need to start cooking!

Furthermore, making cannabis oil is one of the most reliable ways to create edible cannabis products. Even so, it can be difficult to determine the exact potency of homemade edibles or cannabis oil. Here, Farmer Jane has sought out some fool proof ways to make cannabis oil for you to enjoy. If you’re not confident in your cooking abilities, we suggest to consume with caution in very small doses at first. Start low and go slow. Cannabis oil can be consumed on its own, or added to other edible cannabis recipes.
