What does 710 Friendly mean?

Here at Farmer Jane, we’re as 710 friendly as they come!
In this post we’re going to decipher what exactly the 710 code means, and what we have in store for this special date.
What is 710?
710 is one of those ganja jargon terms that some cannabis enthusiasts may have heard. Most weed terms are a code of sorts that stoners prior to legalization used to openly talk about consuming cannabis. So this jargon was, essentially, born from necessity. Stoners had to have a way to communicate without parents, employers, and police officers becoming wise. This also helps explain why there are so many weed terms: the slang had to constantly evolve as those who tried to shut down the usage figured out the lingo.
Now that cannabis is legal across the country, why do we still use the classic jargon, and why is new slang being invented daily?
Well because it’s fun! And because it creates a community of like-minded people who share a common language and who love cannabis. What does this have to do with 710?
How 710 became code for “down to dab”
The slang term is for a very specific aspect of cannabis culture, and this code is for concentrates! Like the name implies, concentrates are concentrated versions of the original marijuana buds. Through a process called extraction, the trichomes and other chemical goodies that make up the psychoactive components of the cannabis plant are stripped from the plant matter. When the stripping process has run its full course, all that is left are the cannabinoids, the terpenes, flavonoids, and a concentrate that is more potent than the bud it came from!
The base of all the different types of concentrates you can find nowadays is oil. The extraction process yields an oil that you can then manipulate into a new form of concentrates, something like wax, shatter, budder, diamonds, etc!
Because of this, the word oil is often used as an umbrella term to refer to consuming cannabis concentrates.
From OIL to 710
The term 710 is a code within a code. Oil enthusiasts literally turned the jargon on its head, if you flip OIL around, you’ll see where 710 comes from! As cannabis concentrates become increasingly popular, watch out for 710 to become as big of a celebration as 420!
Cannabis oil and other concentrates are not recommended for first-time tokers. Since concentrates are so highly potent they can get the uninitiated extremely high in no time. So if you’re a newbie to consuming cannabis, stay within your limits! There is no rush when it comes to experimentation!
