As the city of Regina endures a major heatwave, we know you are inching to find something to do both in the great outdoors and under the well-flowing vents of a beloved air conditioner. Yes, it is finally summer and Farmer Jane has a few ideas up her sleeve to make this an unforgettable summer with a little help from your favourite herb, cannabis.

Looking to enjoy the sunshine and the great outdoors. Here are six things you can do around Regina while outside.

1. Find a local Munchie place

The first stop is to get some food. You have a big night ahead of you and are in need of some food fuel. We’ve highlighted a few must-visit local Munchie places around Regina in our Monthly Munchie Blog posts, such as Italian Star Deli, Victoria’s Tavern, and Leopold’s Tavern, etc. Since cannabis goes hand in hand with food, we highly recommend you pair the two together while your senses are heightened and your belly is rumbling.

2. Picnic at Kiwanis waterfalls.

Following your munchie run, we’d recommend ordering it “to go” and taking it to Kiwanis Falls. Don’t forget a blanket to sprawl out on the grass as you enjoy the munchies near the waterfall in the park.

3. Take a stroll around Wascana Lake

Just up the road from the Kiwanis waterfall is Wascana Lake. So, if you’re looking to get your step count in and to work off the food you just indulged, why not take a stroll around Wascana Lake. Wascana Lake is made up of two loops, the larger loop which the Saskatchewan Legislative building resides on is 6 km in length, and the shorter loop which passes by the University of Regina, Candy Cane Park, and the Saskatchewan Science Centre is 4 km’s long. If you have time for the short loop, make sure you make plans to stop at Douglas Park Hill to watch the sunset. The view of the queen city is breathtaking.

4. Kayaking at Wascana Lake

This area of the city seems to be a hot spot for finding things to do. Located at the Wascana Marina is Wascana Canoe Kayak Rentals, Regina’s kayak and canoe rental hub. Single and double kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddleboards are available, and rentals include life jackets, paddles, and safety kits. 5. Disc Golf

Wow! Another great outdoor activity that happens to be in the area. Check out the Douglas Park disc golf course here to throw around a few discs for your night out.  

6. Dog Park

Of course, Farmer Jane is going to recommend hanging out with dogs as something to do. Anytime a #FarmDog comes into one of our Farmer Jane locations, we are overjoyed and we want you to feel this joy too. Regina has four dog parks around the city for you to visit.

7.  The MacKenzie Art Gallery

8. Regina Floral Conservatory

In addition to our love for art, here at Farmer Jane we also love plants and flowers. In-store we have an abundance of plants. We even have some basil plants you can take home with you! If you’re looking for something to do, Farmer Jane highly recommends checking out the Regina Floral Conservatory (when it opens up again).

9. Dutch Growers

Another great plant place that is a MUST to go to is Dutch Growers. Located on the outskirts of the city on the Ring Road Highway, Dutch Growers just moved into their newly built location, which has everything from trees to roses to vines, you name it! Dutch Growers is definitely worth checking out if you love plants and flowers.
