Microdosing CBD is easy to do once you understand it, but it can be confusing if you’ve never tried it before! So, to help you get a better understanding of microdosing, we’re going over everything you need to know about microdosing CBD. In this blog, we’ll talk about what microdosing is, why people microdose CBD, how to find your ideal CBD microdose, and more.
What is CBD microdosing?
Microdosing isn’t unique to CBD, but the reason people microdose CBD is unique. People sometimes microdose intoxicating substances (such as the THC in cannabis) in order to use them without having strong psychoactive side effects. But since CBD doesn’t cause any psychoactive effects, that’s not why CBD users microdose. CBD users generally microdose for one of two reasons: to get their desired therapeutic effects by using less CBD or to spread the effects of CBD throughout their day. For some people, taking an occasional microdose of CBD works perfectly to achieve their desired results. So, taking less product helps them get the benefits they need, while using up less of their CBD product– it’s a win-win!
How to Microdose/What is the optimal dosage?
The key to successfully microdosing CBD is to find your optimal dosage. Everyone’s optimal micro-dosage is different, so you’ll need to focus on how you feel after taking different amounts of CBD in order to figure out the right dose for you!Generally microdosing is where you start low and slow and when you’re using CBD products it is no different. Basically, you’re obtaining more from less. For instance, let’s say your budtender recommended you start taking a 30 mg dose of CBD once a day. Instead of taking it all at one time, you could choose to microdose that daily serving amount by taking six 5 mg doses throughout the day.If you’re brand new to the CBD game, and want to try microdosing, just start with one drop of oil. Pay attention to how you feel after your dose. If you don’t feel the effects you’re looking for after around 45 minutes, take two drops for your second dose at the next hour mark. Continue with this process, paying close attention to how you feel and how much CBD you take, until you reach a dose that gives you the benefits you’re looking for!
Four Easy Ways to Microdose
Microdosing with CBD oil
Microdosing CBD oil under the tongue is probably one of the easiest methods to follow: just bring your favourite oil with you as you go about your day, and measure out your microdose every few hours. Don’t forget to hold the oil under your tongue before fully ingesting, just as you would with traditional CBD dosing!
Microdosing with CBD flower
Smoking some premium CBD flower may be one of the most satisfying ways to consume CBD, but it’s also probably the most difficult to accurately measure when it comes to microdosing—but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible.
Microdosing with CBD-infused edibles
Of all the ways to microdose, CBD-infused edibles are easily the sweetest approach. Cut your chocolate or gummy into equally-sized pieces and enjoy bite-sized treats throughout the day. Or, find a package of edibles that’s already measured out into the proper milligrams you want to take!
Microdosing with more than one product
Your microdosing routine doesn’t have to be confined to any single CBD product—you can get your doses in whatever way makes sense for your mood of the time of day, as long as you’re keeping the dose consistent!Maybe you prefer to keep it simply in the morning, with your first couple of doses via CBD oil, switching over to CBD chocolate as an afternoon pick-me-up and winding down your evening with a smokable CBD flower. The best approach is the one that works for you.
