How to Make a Pumpkin Bong
It’s that time of the year again when pumpkins are literally around every corner. From pumpkin-spiced lattes, to fresh baked goods and all the way to literally pumpkin-flavoured everything, it’s hard to get away from the hype.This year, take your pumpkin carving contests to the next step by carving a sweet pumpkin bong. It’s quick and easy, and doesn’t require you to spend too much money!
What do you need?
If you want to put this together, then it is quite obvious to assume the first thing you need is a pumpkin. Then, you need a knife or utensil that is sharp enough to carve into it – even a screwdriver can do the job. Snag a downstem from any of your bongs you already own, or call your closest Farmer Jane to see if we have any in stock for an extra fresh hit 😉
- A plump pumpkin
- A screwdriver (or something pokey)
- Bowl piece (optional)
- A glass downstem (optional)
- Knife & spoon
- A lighter
- Halloween weed (A.K.A.Halloweed)
Step 1: Carve out a build-in bowl
Start by carving a small bowl into one side of the pumpkin. Your goal here is to make a shallow hemisphere cut as you don’t want to break through the flesh of the pumpkin. Farmer Jane would recommend using a knife to make the initial incision and a spoon to carve out the circular shape. Following your beautifully made carve, take your screwdriver (or something pokey) and poke a tiny hole that goes through the flesh of the pumpkin.
If you have a bowl piece and glass downstem or broken bong then you can use it for your bowl. Instead of carving out a shallow hole, make a round hole that matches the diameter of the bowl piece and downstem and pierces through the meat of the pumpkin. It’s important to have a tight hole for your bowl piece as a loose seal will not allow for enough suction and you won’t be able to take quality hits.
Step 2: Carve out your carb
To make a carb, put another small hole on the side of the pumpkin using your screwdriver (or pokey thing). Again, this hole should poke through to the center of the pumpkin.
Step 3: Carve out your mouthpiece
In order to make the mouthpiece, you will need to make another hole. This mouthpiece hole should be poked through on the opposite side of the bowl on the top half of the pumpkin. If you’re unsure as to where to poke all your holes, just picture where they would be located on an actual bong. If you have a silicone mouthpiece or broken bong then you can use it for your mouthpiece to your pumpkin bong look extra dope.
Step 4: Pack the bowl and light it up!
Grab your favourite lighter and some Halloweed and enjoy the spirit of Halloween smoking out of a pumpkin bong.
