We’re halfway through Earth Month, and our teams, customers, and industry partners are making it one to remember. It has been a privilege to work with WYLD, Redecan, Pure Sunfarms, Palmetto, Budnked, and our supporting sponsor, ufeelu, who have been pivotal in the success thus far. If you’ve stepped inside a Farmer Jane store recently, you’ve probably noticed something special taking shape—our Earth Month trees are filling up fast. Each leaf pinned to a branch represents a real tree being planted in honour of a customer, thanks to their support. It’s more than just a symbol; it’s a growing testament to the power of community action. Every store has a tree that’s eligible to be filled up with donation leaves, and in some places, we’ve had such an incredible response that we had to build a second tree to keep up. These displays bring our initiative to life, showing that even the smallest gestures can grow into something amazing when we work together.
These trees are also a great reminder of the bigger goal we’re working toward—planting 10,000 more trees this April in the wildfire-affected Cariboo region of British Columbia. So far, the momentum has been nothing short of inspiring. Our teams have been hyping up the initiative in-store, and customers across the Prairies—from Rochdale Boulevard to Preston Avenue to Grant Park—have been stepping up. With each purchase of participating products, another tree is planted, another leaf goes up, and our shared impact grows. Watching customers connect with the campaign, asking questions, sharing stories, and getting involved has been incredible. The energy in our stores has been electric, and it’s all fuelled by the collective drive to make a meaningful difference during Earth Month. Our partnership with veritree continues to be a milestone moment—not just for Farmer Jane, but for the cannabis industry as a whole. As the first cannabis retailer to participate in this kind of verified reforestation initiative, we’re proud to lead the way in showing how businesses in our space can be powerful forces for environmental good. The impact we’re building together is massive. By the end of Earth Month 2025, our collective efforts will have planted over 20,000 trees, helping restore more than 10 hectares of land, remove the equivalent of 18,500 tonnes of CO₂ from the atmosphere, and generate around 80 workdays for planting crews. These are real, measurable outcomes—and they’re only possible because of the commitment from our teams, customers, and fantastic brand partners. This is what progress looks like, and we hope others in the industry feel inspired to jump in and grow with us.
The partnership between veritree and Farmer Jane is rooted in a shared vision of regeneration, responsibility, and impact. Together, we’ve already planted an incredible 13,900 trees through previous campaigns—each one a symbol of what’s possible when community and purpose come together. This Earth Month marks the next exciting chapter in our journey, as we push toward our goal of planting 10,000 more trees in April alone. Every customer contribution, every leaf added to our in-store trees, and every product purchased from participating brands brings us one step closer. Today, their bold goal of planting one billion trees in the next decade continues to guide everything they do. Their commitment to long-term restoration—especially in wildfire-impacted areas like B.C.’s Cariboo region—makes them a natural partner for us at Farmer Jane. Through this partnership, we’re not only helping regrow forests—we’re helping grow hope for a greener, more resilient future.
