Recycle with Farmer Jane
With the beginning of Earth month, Farmer Jane is pleased to be starting up our first ever recycling program!
As most of you have come to realize, when cannabis became legalized in our country another issue arose: “What are we going to do with all the packaging we get?” Cannabis producers have many regulations they need to work within, and this leads to the reason we see so much packaging for the products we receive. To help deal with this issue, we teamed up with our friends at ArtsJunktion and Refill Market in Winnipeg to find a creative way to recycle and reuse your old cannabis containers!

#PrettyGoodWeed #PrettyGoodCause
Through this program, Farmer Jane will supply food grade plastic to be turned into new products using ArtJunktion’s bicycle powered Precious Plastics Shredder and Injector, which turns the plastic into new items for Refill Market!

Waste not Winnipeg!
A little more info about our kick-ass partners:
ArtsJunktion is a community-based charitable organization committed to redistributing reusable materials available take-what-you-need, and pay-what-you-can. ArtsJunktion works to reduce landfill waste by receiving materials from businesses, organizations and individuals for distribution to the public. This allows them to increase environmental awareness through community engagement! Refill Market is all about providing sustainable bulk products that are ethically sourced and made close to home. The shop is a zero waste store with sustainable home and personal care essentials. Their values align with what we love here at Farmer Jane, inclusivity, diversity and giving back to the community that supports us so much.

The beautiful Arts Junktion space!
Now what can you expect as a customer wanting to recycle your old containers?
Come into any of the Farmer Jane dispensaries in Winnipeg and we’ll accept your used cannabis containers to help reduce waste. ArtsJunktion prefers not to work with plastic types 1, 6 and 7, and ideally would love our customers to clean out the container and remove the label if possible!
This is just one small program Farmer Jane has introduced in an effort to help keep our communities green, and healthy!
